From memory the diffences are. Turbo is different, engine management is different, the rear of the block on the GU spec engine has another bracket for the Patrol's larger gearbox, the intake manifold is the same but obviously for the intercooler there are a few bolt on's. The GU's run a MAF sensor as opposed to the D22 engine running a MAP sensor. The air filter set up is bigger on the GU engine to.
Fuel pumps are the same from memory. Around early 2003 I think it was Nissan changed the buckets and shim's arrangement slightly.
