Are you thinking steel wheels or alloys? If you go for the alloys make sure you get the proper wheel nuts for them as I have a mater who's front left wheel came off twice while driving due to having the wrong wheel nuts on.

You can, but you will have to have your stereo set to aux to be able to hear the UHF, so you wont be able to listen to music and listen to the UFH at the same time.

Yeah, I think you may have problems there, just because if you look at the tub compared to the cab when off road or eve just going over bumps or through a sharp gutter you will notice that there is a bit of movement between the 2, this could cause stress fractures if you try to join them.

All states have there own regulatory body that has there own rules Vic has Vicroads NSW has RTA, it's up to each state as to what they will allow. I know in QLD a few years back you had to get a roady done on your car every year, not sure if that is still the case or not.

Sounds strange but have you tried going back into 4Low then back to 2wd making sure you are using the clutch while the car is running?
