Does the 550 have a Dual Mass Flywheel?

Thanks Guys. I'll take it to Nissan next week and see what they say. Doug

Does the 550 have a Dual Mass Flywheel?

I have one of the very first of the Nav V6 diesels and for the last 6 months have been starting to get a vibration through the car, especially around the 1500 RPM range. Under 1500 RPM there is a distinct gearbox chatter with the vibration. 37K on the speedo and have towed a 2.5T van for about...

    ARB or TJM

Thanks for that info John. I was thinking about fitting the SAX equalizer springs until I saw your post. I may need to re-think.

John, How did your spring reset go? I have a similar issue and was looking to do something like you got done.

STX 550 roaring noise/under bonnet temps

Thanks for that info Scotty, mine has done the same since new and only does it briefly just after I first start driving with a cold engine. From the sound I assumed it was the fan because I used to get a similar sound effect with trucks I owned that were fitted with clutch type fans. Doug

Rear door seals noisy at speed

My 2008 D40 did it and so does the 550. I asked the dealer a few weeks ago to report it to Nissan as there were heaps of guys complaining about the same thing. Doug

The V6 Diesel D40 has arrived.

Frenchie, What make of fuel tank did you get and what did it cost all up? Iron Man are going to measure my 550 to see if their tank will fit. Doug

The V6 Diesel D40 has arrived.

I checked it out Tony and all looks OK to me. The Nav has only done 2000 k and it looked clean. Doug

The V6 Diesel D40 has arrived.

Hi Guys, I have experienced the same roar in mine twice now. It happened when the engine was not up to norman operating temperature and I thought it may have been the turbo. I have also got a distinct hesitation when I press the accelerator from a standing start. Stop at the lights and press...

Same deal with me. I didn't want the tub liner because I preferred the spray liner. Even though the lid and liner were fitted at the wharf in Brisbane after the Nav arrived and knowing that I didn't want the liner Nissan still fitted it. When the dealer received the car they had to remove it...

The V6 Diesel D40 has arrived.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a cabin filter and what is its purpose? Where is it fitted? Doug

    Hi everyone...

I agree with Tony. I took the liner out of my STX 550 and had the tub sprayed. My last D40 had a spray liner from new and it was absolutely perfect after 3 years - not a mark on it. On the 550 they cut two square holes in the liner at the front to accommodate the tie down rails and every bit of...

Hunter That's good fuel economy. If you take the distance recorded by your GPS (725) with the fuel used (62.46 Ltr) you got 8.61 LPHK. I noticed the same with mine, what the computer is saying is higher than the actual and the difference is about 1 LPHK. It will be interesting to see what...

Ekka and Plod can you post some pics of where you fitted your controllers please? I had to adjust the chrome hooks in the tub to get my lid to lock. I was in the same position as you guys - lid wouldn't lock. Now it works just fine. If you leave the tail gate open and shut the lid you can look...

Same here - mine is doing the same. There appears to be a gap between the rubber at the top of the glass near the quarter panel
