Glenmaggie would be an overnighter for myself. Too far for a day trip.
Have the whole weekend available though and it would be quite with this football malarky going on - interested in camping DOCP?

Camping is unfortunately out for me this weekend mate, only possibility is a day trip.... It's only about 2.5 hours out to Huggett's Crossing though (from where I am, that is - Box Hill area), not too much further than Aberfeldy..... Plenty of daylight around at the moment too. Which side of Melbourne are you on?

If you're headed to Glenmaggie it's a good idea not to go on holidays or long weekends as too many other like minded people do the same thing. Also when your headed up that way keep to the speed limits the coppers are deadly around the Heyfield area with both camera and mobile units.

I headed that way on Easter Sunday this year and there was a constant stream of traffic headed home and three coppers planted in different locations between Glenmaggie and Traralgon. I don't speed so they don't bother me and 5 years of traveling that road daily for work means I also know where the coppers hide so I keep an eye out and be aware of speed limits at all times because they do change a number of times out there.

i totally agree with u aido about the footy im keen to go cobaw i have been there about 5 times on my dirt bike.wombat is good i just dont no many tracks.i dont really want to travel 2.5 hours just let me no wat u think cheers jimmy.

Aido & Jimmy..........I guess you boys were watching Mamma Mia last night instead of the Footy Show!!!!

(Just having a crack - the footy show is crap and I was over it by 9.30am).

Glad that was a crack, I saw bits of the Footy show on the news this morning and it looked more like Priscella Queen of the oval than it did a foot show. Still the NRL boys get their go next week and I'm sure they can do something equally as macho.

Dragging up this thread to sort the forest from the trees.
Dead wood will be culled.
If you are on this forum and have registered as a member of the VNOG crew in the community / social groups then make it known by PM'ing me with a simple "Hello"
This week I will be sending messages to all 44 that have come, gone or stayed. If you do not reply within 14 days I am going to remove your name from the list of members.
Reasons for this is so that I can keep the active members informed of upcoming events and a simple newsletter of past events.
We recently had 10 vehicles all together out in Toolangi and everybody that attended has stories to tell and had a great time. If you have not already joined VNOG then its easy. Follow this link http://www.navara.asia/groups/victorian-navara-owners-group.html
Once again.....VNOG is not a sanctioned 4x4 club nor is it a structured group that adheres to committees. We are just a bunch of people that predominately use our Navaras for 4x4 activities here in Victoria. By use of this forum we organize regular trips and meetings for the above.

For upcoming events then please check the calendar on the jump bar at top of screen or the "Melbourne" Section of the forum.

Cool Aido - i didnt even realise that there was a calender on the jump bar ... hehehehe ... and i've been here 6 months

I'll help you on the cull list by removing myself. It's not like I'm ever going to go out bashing through the bush or camping so there's no real need for me to be told of up coming events.

Have a thought.....
And its only that at the moment.

Want to put together a list of people that have specific speciality tools.
For instance a 90-95mm holesaw isn't cheap to use just the once in regards to installing snorkels.
But other equipment as well that we can refer to. Tools such as Axel stands, trolley jacks, multimeters, torque wrenches, rattle guns etc etc. Specialty stuff that the average bloke may not have in his, or her garage, and cant really justify spending money on for one off or occasional use.
Only interested to hear from others that are willing to "Loan" this specific equipment. Of course the person borrowing the equipment will have to stand by the rule of "you break it you bought it" and of course the owner of the equipment has the unequivocal right to refuse. Certain gratuities may be payable for the use of their equipment but that is can be worked out between one another.

For instance. I borrow my neighbours axle stands from time to time because I don't want them to be hanging around my garage when not in use. In kind I sort him out with a bottle of bourbon. Cheap hire.
He also raids my garage for bits and pieces and does similar. Works well.

Just want thoughts on if anyone in the VNOG fraternity would be interested in a post that details your location and what equipment you would be able to assist others with. No specific addresses as this is the internet and people can and do shop around. Perhaps even a password protected thread on the forum that only known and respected persons can access - or on the Blog

Thoughts?

Hey Krankin - feel free to organise a trip on your side of Victoria. Where exactly is that?

It's open to everyone to organise/promote/attend these things. Aido got it started - but he shouldn't be expected to organise everything.

You'd be suprised how far some will travel just to catch up and see new tracks.

Your still active. Your not going anywhere.

On this I only looked to weed out those passersby that joined both the forum ,then joined the social group and promptly disappeared. Both You and Krafty are still a part of VNOG
1. You own a Navara
2. You live in Victoria

Because of the way the "Social Groups" area of this forum is put together It was impossible to communicate properly and so I started the Blog ( the address in my Sig). I / we are attempting to offer something for everyone, no matter if you live in Mildura, Orbost or anywhere in between.
The blog is a rolling newsletter that the "social groups" area should be to keep everybody informed of what's going on in Vic.
Like I have said before this is not a "Club", we have no committee, there are no rules or regulations. VNOG is for everyone and is steered by everyone. I am just providing the enthusiasm to keep everyone rowing by beating the drum.
I am not your leader. Everybody is welcome to organize trips or shindigs in order to socialise away from the keyboard.
So Krankin ( Definitely not being a smart arse, the keyboard cannot carry inflection nor tone ) when are we coming up your way?

:cheers!:

Adrian
